Every blog needs an intro, right? So here is mine. I guess you have already read “About me” and have already an idea why I decided to start my blog, but here are some more details: when, where and how.

I was born in Arkhangelsk, Northern Russia. Many Europeans still think it is in Siberia and that there is no summer. It is not true. Arkhangelsk is a nice city and I will always remember it as my home. There is summer and there are no polar bears on the streets. We have things to be proud of and that we can show to visitors. But about that - it is in a different chapter. I’ll be posting on my page about the places I lived and what they offer.

As a student I moved to the North of Sweden to study and afterwards I got a job in the South. I studied, got a good job and learned Swedish. You could say I was integrated. At that time if somebody would have told me that I would be next living in Germany, I would just laugh back. But life is unpredictable and I ended up in Germany. Back then I wanted to try many things and didn’t fear anything (it has changed a little bit). So when they offered me at work to move from Sweden to Germany I of course said “Yes”. After some years in Germany it’s like I couldn’t sit still and I ended up in a new city and a new country – Amsterdam, Netherlands. And again thanks to my job I was living between two cities, two countries Frankfurt and Amsterdam. Actually it was between 3 cities as my husband lived in Eastern Germany back then and I visited him there. Long-distance relationship is terrible; at least it is for me. However, sometimes I’ve heard from people that it is cool cause you don’t get on each other’s nerves. But no-no, not for me, if you are together – you should be together. Our plan back then was to move to Frankfurt, but somehow our plans change so fast that even I lose track of them sometimes! Eventually we ended up in Leipzig with my husband and expecting a wonderful baby. Majority of my maternity leave I spent in Eastern Germany which was pretty cool. I say majority as I happened to spend also a couple of months in sunny Spain. You ask “why?” cause my husband is Spanish. After maternity leave we plan a new move and this time we are going back to get to know the Dutch culture better. So from all these moves I got to know different cities and cultures, I managed to integrate into new countries and most importantly, I ended up making very good friends abroad!

From the beginning I thought most of my blogs I’d like to dedicate to travels and learning about different countries and cultures, but becoming a mom changed my life (surprise-surprise, everybody told me it was gonna happen), therefore I’d like to share the experience of being a mom too. And the funny thing is that creating my own webpage was in my head for a long time but became only possible when I was on maternity leave. That’s why big thank you to my daughter!

Anyways, since the blog is for YOU, write me and I’ll be happy to share different aspects of my life: living abroad and its integration; how to be a mom and at the same time pursue a career in an international company; multiple movements and its bureaucracy; interesting places which are not so far as we mainly travel in Europe; experience of raising a multilingual baby which has just started for me.

I hope you enjoy the read!
